At Seattle Percussion Academy, you will study with local percussionist Mitchell Beck. As someone with a passion for all types of music, Mitchell stays busy performing with local bands, as a solo artist, and with orchestras in the Pacific Northwest. Mitchell has a vast knowledge of many percussion instruments and is ready to help you level up your percussion skills!

Mitchell is from Centerville, OH and began his percussion journey in 2005. He developed a love for everything percussion related throughout middle and high school and went on to study percussion at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Here, he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in percussion performance after studying with world class percussionists Kevin Bobo, Michael Spiro, Steve Houghton, and John Tafoya. Since graduating, Mitchell has held the positions of Visiting Assistant Professor of Percussion/Music Technology at Boise State University (Boise, ID), Assistant Percussion Director at Carmel High School (Carmel, IN), Percussion Specialist at Happy Minds School of Music (Bellevue, WA), and General Music Teacher at Yellow Wood Academy (Mercer Island, WA). Mitchell has also remained busy traveling around the country to present clinics on various percussion related topics.
